Answer 1 :
I don't know of any schools in Nevada (or anywhere for that matter) that offer a 4 yr. aviation degree BUT the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in Las Vegas does offer an aviation degree. It's a 66 credit course: The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Technology prepares students who seek careers as professional pilots. Upon graduation, students will have earned an FAA Private Pilot Certificate, FAA Instrument Rating and an FAA Commercial Pilot Certification, as well as the degree. Classroom and lab instruction utilizes, modern flight simulators and state-of-the-art aviation training devices. FAA Certificated Flight Instructors provide all flight instruction in conjunction with our community partner flight school providers. Students must meet all eligibility requirements determined by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration. To learn more about the specific degree go to this link: http://www.csn.edu/PDFFiles/Degree%20Sheets/AAS%20-%20AVIATION%20TECHNOLOGY.pdf To learn more about CSN go to http://www.csn.edu/ Good luck!
Answer 2 :
You're right... there aren't any in Nevada that offer anything more than an associate's degree (airlines require a bachelor's). Utah State University has Bachelor degrees in professional pilot and aircraft maintenance. It is also accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International and a member of the University of Aviation Association. Some other good aviation schools include Arizona State University, Mount San Antonio College, Purdue University (IN), and University of North Dakota.
Answer 3 :
Check and see if there are any other schools in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) that offer an aviation major. You may be able to attend a school in another western state at reduced tuition rates through the WUE. http://wue.wiche.edu/
