Just about every parent of a junior or a senior will know this. In most states it's 2 years. Not sure if any other state is different. Although there are exceptions. Such as your parents die, and you go live with granny in her state, then you are eligible right away

Its normally 1 year. It also depends on why you have moved there. If you are moving there specifically for school you have to be there for 1 year without attending a college/university to be considered a resident. If you move there and go directly to a school there you will never get in-state tuition because you can not live in a state just for school. If your parents are moving to a different state due to a job or something all you have to do is supply information proving this and you can get in-state tuition almost immediately.
