I am trying to get certification in Nevada and my evaluator tells me that since I did am deficient in 18 semester hours of college/university credit. I have taken 4 courses that counted for 10 credits. I'm not sure how they calculate these 10 credits. Can anyone explain what the difference is?

Answer 1 :
Each course is given a certain number of credits based on the amount of hours it meets each week. So, a 3 credit hour class means you will get 3 credits for a class that meets 3 hours per week (most likely MWF for 1 hr or one day a week for 3 hours). Since you have 4 classes that total 10 hours, that means 10 credits are distributed amongst the 4 classes. So, it could be 2 classes that are 2 credit hours each (4 hours) and 2 classes that are 3 hours each (6) hours for a total of 10 hours. You will have to look at the class schedule to determine how the hours are distributed amongst these classes.
