What is the difference between college credits and hours

What is the difference between college credits and hours?
I am trying to get certification in Nevada and my evaluator tells me that since I did am deficient in 18 semester hours of college/university credit. I have taken 4 courses that counted for 10 credits. I'm not sure how they calculate these 10 credits. Can anyone explain what the difference is?

Answer 1 :
Each course is given a certain number of credits based on the amount of hours it meets each week. So, a 3 credit hour class means you will get 3 credits for a class that meets 3 hours per week (most likely MWF for 1 hr or one day a week for 3 hours). Since you have 4 classes that total 10 hours, that means 10 credits are distributed amongst the 4 classes. So, it could be 2 classes that are 2 credit hours each (4 hours) and 2 classes that are 3 hours each (6) hours for a total of 10 hours. You will have to look at the class schedule to determine how the hours are distributed amongst these classes.

Answer 2 :
Sorry, I can only speak for Hawaii. There are no college-level wrestling teams in Hawaii. As for the rest of the NCAA, I'd check out the following resources: NCAA wrestling official site: http://www.ncaa.com/sports/m-wrestl/ncaa-m-wrestl-body.html

Where are some good places to live in Nevada

Where are some good places to live in Nevada?
I am looking to relocate from Phoenix, AZ and interested in Nevada. What are some nice areas to live in Nevada? What is the weather like? I am also going to school with a major in Sociology, so how is the job market? I am really interested in something near a community college or university, good scenery, affordable, safe, and lots to do (meaning good shopping areas, movie theaters, museums, restaurants and etc). I would also interested in living in an suburban area. Any information is greatly appreciated!

I great place is in a place like Zephyr cove, on the shores of lake tahoe. It is close to California and the lake, with great views of California, Mt. Talac especially. It is warm in the summer with swimming and cold in the winter, although it is located on the warm side of the lake, so it does not snow in huge blizzards.
