Idk my cousin goes there and it looks like a good school, but i dont have the best grades and stuff. im a sophomore in high school, and i have about a maybe c+ average in all my classes but i take all college prep classes. I also got a 1380 on my psats but i think i will do better next time becasue everyone says psats are harder than regular sats, amd i take a lot of courses that look good on an application. by senior year i will have taken 4 years of spanish, 4 years of english, algebra I + II, geometry and precalc, general technical science (lab) biology (lab) checmistry (lab) and physics (lab), 2 years of gym, world histery, modern world history, US history, Civics, Sociology japanese I + II, a creative writing course, a coimputer applications couse, and a creative writing course. I also have a job and 300+ volunteer hours.

Answer 1 :
C+ average.. I would be worried.... I got into a decent college with a B+ average, and I had no job experience or no volunteer hrs at all.

Would living in a state for a year before college allow me to pay the resident tuition

Would living in a state for a year before college allow me to pay the resident tuition?
My friend and I are planning to attend college together in Oregon (we currently live in Nevada), but the tuition for out-of-state students would be too much for either of our families to handle. My friend suggested that we move to Oregon once we graduate high school, live and work there for a year, and then apply to college the following year as residents. Would this actually work and allow us to pay the resident tuition fees rather than the out-of-state tuition fees?

Answer 1 :
Yes, if you get a driver's license, file taxes, etc. in that state. Make sure it's a year before you apply. Just beware that, like many states, jobs are hard to come by, especially if you just have a high school diploma.
Answer 2 :
It depends on the school. Some universities require more than basic legal residency (driver's license and taxes). You should check the school's residency guidelines.
Answer 3 :
You'd have to check with the school, they probably have that information on their website. Many schools require more than one year of residency for undergraduate, so it most likely won't work.
Answer 4 :
For some schools, your residency status is based on your parents until you are a certain age. So even if you did move and got a new license and a job, it still wouldn't matter. Look up the residency requirements of specific schools to see what you need to do. Also, residency only matters for public colleges/universities.

If you fail a community college class, does it affect your ability to enroll in another community college

If you fail a community college class, does it affect your ability to enroll in another community college?
I'm a high school junior living in California taking a college English class. I think I'm going to get a D or F...but I'm moving to Nevada after high school and will enter community college (I'm planning to eventually transfer to a 4-year school). How will my bad grade now affect my ability to enroll in college later - if at all?

Answer 1 :
It won't impact your ability to enroll in community college in Nevada. You will have to send them the transcript, but it won't prevent you from getting in.
Answer 2 :
The only thing that it will do is to lower your college GPA which might affect your admissions, but that's not likely since it's another community college and they are pretty lenient on grades.
