Sierra Nevada College - Ski Buisiness

Sierra Nevada College - Ski Buisiness?
I was thinking about going here and taking the major in ski buisness and resort management. I love to ski and want to spend my career on a mountain. I had an interest in designing terrain parks also. What I would like to know is do you actually spend time skiing or even on the mountain if you take this major. Also, what will happen after college. What will you do for work? I hear that if you someday are the manager of a ski resort, you will not be able ski because you will be working so much. Is this true? Thanks!

Sam- I was actually a student in the ski business program for a bit, and really enjoyed it. The courses entailed actually going to the resorts and meeting with different departments, and also listening to guest speakers in classes. While most of the courses are in the classroom, there is a lot of opportunities to intern at the resorts and help with events in Tahoe. I know some students have helped at Dew Tours in the past, and learned a lot about events in addition to running different areas of the resorts. After graduation, a lot of students go on to work at the resorts where they interned, or will relocate and work internationally or in different areas of the US. As far as managing a resort in the future, I know lots of managers are pretty busy, but most likely still find time to ski. Hope that helps-

idk. stop mind fcuking me
Answer 2 :
I don't know too much about University Of Nevada, but I can tell you that while Chico state has some pretty good programs and it is a pretty campus, it's basically in the middle of nowhere. There isn't much to do around there, except for party a lot. If your into that, then go ahead, but if you want a place where it balances out between education and other fun activities outside of school I would reconsider your option. Good luck!

Can I attend College of Southern Nevada if I didn't graduate high school

Can I attend College of Southern Nevada if I didn't graduate high school?
I passed all my proficiency exams, but sadly I had 3 credits missing...

Answer 1 :
colleges require you to have your high school diploma or a GED You can check any school's web site for requirements
Answer 2 :
How old are you? Are you under age 21? If so, then you can still do those 3 credits. Talk to your old high school. If you're local, ask them if you can return to complete the 3 credits. If that's not an option, then ask them if you can do that missing class at a community college near you, and have it apply back to your HS record so that you can graduate. If not, then you have two options - you could get your GED, which based on the fact that you passed the proficiency exams, you could probably accomplish in short order; or you could go directly to community college without it. If you'd like to do the GED, most ccs offer GED prep classes which you can take. They take 10 weeks, and cost about $25 for the whole series of classes. Cheap. This will allow you to brush up your old knowledge, then take the GED. Or you can contact the community college and ask if you can be admitted without the GED. Many ccs have a program where they will admit you under something called "ability to benefit". You get there, and you have to take a certain series of courses - 24 credits worth - before you can move on. If you pass all those classes, you can go on to complete your associates - and those 24 credits count towards that. Once you complete your associates, you can either use that degree to get a job (some associates degrees are in high demand - ask the school) or you can transfer to a university to complete your bachelors.

Will the GI Bill pay for an out of state college

Will the GI Bill pay for an out of state college?
As of now, I live in Alabama. I am wanting to attend college in Nevada in the Fall. Will the GI Bill only pay for an in-state college? Or will I be able to go to a Nevada college through the GI Bill? Thanks!

Answer 1 :
GI Bill is Federal, not State.
Answer 2 :
It will pay, but the new post 9-11 gi bill can be confusing. call the VA office with the details about the school you plan to attend.
Answer 3 :
The GI Bill is a federal thing.
Answer 4 :
Are you recently out and you are talking about the Post 9/11 GI Bill? If so the rules are it will pay up to the highest undergraduate public school at the in state tuition level. The problem is not will it pay for out of state, it doesn't care where you attend, the problem is that it will only pay to a certain level. If you are using the old MGIB, then the tuition is paid to you and you use it to pay your tuition.
Answer 5 :
Yes you can as long as you get accepted into those colleges.
Answer 6 :
yes they have a cap for each state's max. they will pay upto that cap and if it's under then good, if over you need to cover the rest. google gi bill. should be the first one or 2nd to find out the cap. look into yellow ribbon program, some schools match to help cover extra costs.
