What if i live in tijuana, mexico and go to college in San Diego? Is it possible?
I am from Nevada and i am 17 and about to turn 18.I am a U.S. citizen. I want to go to Platt college in san diego, is it legal? or illegal? I want to move to tijuana because it is a lot cheaper to live there than San Diego.

Answer 1 :
yeah it is, you just have to drive every single day to san diego, thats a very good idea, but just be careful, tijuana is a very dangerous place.
Answer 2 :
sure.. I mean if you dont mind crossing the border every morning. Have you seen the lines? They are not kind my friend. especially in the weekday when all the Mexicans are crossing to their jobs. CHAOS! I wouldn't recommend that, unless u dont mind getting up a couple of hours earlier just to sit in traffic to cross the border. Think about it, if it were such a great idea and $$ saver, wouldn't alot more people do teh commute as well?Good luck!
Answer 3 :
I wouldn't. It may be cheaper, it is also a killing zone right now for drug gangs. Americans are a target at night for individuals. It is a Third World country. I lived in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico for three weeks, moved to Nogales, AZ. Power and water outages, no convenience stores, can't drink the water. Crossing the border back and forth was a nightmare sometimes. I can tell you when you cross into the USA FROM Mexico, they check EVERY vehicle for drugs. Week-ends and holidays in Mexico many times meant two to four hours waiting to cross into the USA !
Answer 4 :
yea you can do that, just be prepared to commute and give yourself enough time when crossing because it can get packed!
Answer 5 :
Find roommates in San Diego to live with. It'll be much safer. Seriously. The other posters already outlined how dangerous Tijuana is; especially for Americans. If you think gangs in the US are bad, they've got nothing on the drug lords and gang warfare in Mexico right now. In addition, there's the lines to cross the border. Hours in line! How are you going to support yourself? If this is just to save $$ on rent, as I mentioned before, find roommates in San Diego to live with.
